Mary Ann Holcombe

Mrs. Mary Ann Garner Holcombe, 81, of Clarksville, VA entered eternal rest Saturday, May 8, 2010 at Meadowview Terrace. Mrs. Holcombe was born in Mecklenburg County, VA October 25, 1928 to the late Jessie and Louise Tuck Garner.  At an early age Mrs. Holcombe moved to New York where she met and married Mr. Cecil R. Holcombe.    She was a member of Mt. Olive Church of God in Brooklyn, NY.    In addition to her parents Mrs. Holcombe was preceded in death by her husband, Cecile R. Holcombe; two sons, Alvin Perry and Calvin Douglas; one daughter, Cynthia Terry; a grandson, Calvin Elliott and three siblings, Virginia, Macon, and James Garner.   Cherishing her memories are her two daughters, Cecilia A. Butler of Rosedale, NY and Celeste L. Holcombe of Charlotte, NC; two sons, Cecil Holcombe, Jr. of Cypress Hills, NY and Caleb D. Holcombe of Effort, PA; ten grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren,  her siblings, Josephine Walker (Randolph), Eloise Bodie (David) both of Newport News, VA; Jessie Garner (Pearl) of Clarksville, VA and Harold Garner of Durham, NC  and a vast number of other loving  relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Ann Garner Holcombe will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Saturday, May 15, 2010 at Mt. Ararat Baptist Church, Clarksville, VA with Rev. Raymond Roberts, Sr. officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Arrangements are by C. H. Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Clarksville, VA.
