Mary Alice Brummell

Mrs. Mary Alice Brummell, 78, of Clarksville, VA entered eternal rest on Friday, March 11, 2022 at her residence. Mrs. Brummell was born in Oxford, NC on September 21, 1943 to the late Willie Earnest and Thelma Lee Hicks McGhee. She was a graduate of Mary Potter School in Granville County, NC, and furthered her education at Southside Virginia Community College in Keysville, VA. Mrs. Brummell was a member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church #2 in Clarksville, VA, and was formerly employed by Burlington Industries. She was a devoted mother and grandmother who enjoyed cooking and gardening. Mary also took great pride in decorating her home. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie M. Brummell, Sr., and four brothers. She leaves to cherish her loving memory three sons, Charlie M. Brummell, Jr. of Henderson, NC, Troy C. Brummell, Sr. of Clarksville, VA and Dominic L. Brummell, Sr. of Franklinton, NC; two daughters, Alice R. Willis of Wake Forest, NC and Chardetta M. Turrentine of Myrtle Beach, SC; fifteen grandchildren, one great-grandchild; two sisters, Marjorie Brummell of Clarksville, VA and Denise Debnam of Palmer Park, MD, two sisters-in-law, two brothers-in-law, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. A memorial service with limited seating of 50 for Mrs. Mary Alice Brummell will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Saturday, March 19, 2022 at the chapel of C. H. Harris Funeral Home, Buffalo Junction, VA with Rev. Cornelius A. Ogburn, officiating. A mask is required for all chapel services. Arrangements are by C. H. Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
