Martha Jones

Miss Martha Jones, 97, of Chase City, VA entered eternal rest Wednesday, December 1, 2010 at her residence.    Miss Jones was born in Mecklenburg Co. VA. June 2, 1913 to the late Willie and Cora Jones. She attended the Mecklenburg County Public Schools. She was a faithful member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness for the better part of 40 years. She served faithfully and was active in the ministry until her health failed.  In addition to her parents Miss Jones was preceded in death by four brothers, Funches, Woodrow, Robert (Bob),and Casey, three sisters, Rebecca (Becky), Lucy, and Fannie. Cherishing her memories are one son, Charles Jones (Grace) of Newark NJ; seven grandchildren, Janice Harris (Leon) of Skipwith VA, Carol Jones (Reggie) Monroe Jones (Ingrid), Doris Laboo, Kenneth Jones (Gaye), Darlene Freeland, Jeffrey Jones (Toni) all of Newark NJ; seventeen great grandchildren, twenty great-great grandchildren, one brother, Herman Jones (Juanita) of Chase City VA, a devoted niece, Cheryl Fowlkes of Baltimore MD and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A memorial service for Miss Martha Jones will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Saturday, Dec. 4, 2010 at the chapel of Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.
