Martha Allen Pulliam

Mrs. Martha Allen Pulliam, 85, of Skipwith, VA entered eternal rest Tuesday, July 10, 2007 at Chase City Nursing and Rehabilitation, Chase City, VA. Mrs. Pulliam was born in Mecklenburg County, VA May 22, 1922 to the late Isaac and Cora Hutcherson Allen. She was a member of Rocky Mount Baptist Church, Skipwith, VA and a retiree of Burlington Industries, Clarksville, VA. Mrs. Pulliam was preceded in death by her husband, Otis Moses Pulliam and three brothers, Clarence, Cleveland and Walter Allen. Cherishing her memories are three daughters, Vera Pulliam Newton (Melton) of Clarksville, VA, Sarah B. Pulliam and Maxine Pulliam Walker both of Petersburg, VA; one son, Brian G. Pulliam ( Joyce) of Chase City, VA; 13 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, one brother, Willie Allen (Janice) of Bridgeport, CT; four sisters, Elizabeth A. Clayton of South Hill, VA, Louise Allen of Newark, NJ, Ethel Harris of Skipwith, VA and Mary E. Brown of Petersburg, VA and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Mrs. Martha Allen Pulliam will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Saturday, July 14, 2007 at Rocky Mount Baptist Church, Skipwith, VA with Rev. Willie L. Carter Sr. officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 1304 North Main Street, Chase City, VA.
