Mark Anthony Hayes

Mr. Mark Anthony Hayes, 54, of Baskerville, VA entered eternal rest on Sunday, September 17, 2023 at VCU Health Community Memorial Hospital in South Hill, VA.

Mr. Hayes was born in Mecklenburg County, VA on March 27, 1969 to Willie B. and Novella Hayes. He attended Bluestone High School in Skipwith, VA, and was self-employed. Mark was a “jack of all trades”, and enjoyed fishing and cooking.

He was preceded in death by his son, Terrell Rashaun Smith, and a brother, Cornelius Nicholson.

He leaves to cherish his loving memory is wife, Christine Hayes of Baskerville, VA; his parents, Willie B. Hayes and Novella Hayes; stepmother, Geraldine Meredith; eight brothers, Chad Hayes (Karen) of Chase City, VA, Lamar Neville of East Orange, NJ, Ronald Goode (Cynthia), Leonard Neville and German Neville all of South Hill, VA, Willie Hayes, Jr. and Lynell Hayes both of Newark, NJ and Sherman Eaddy (Kadiyah) of Richmond, VA; four sisters, Esline Adams (Roy), Talia Neville, Zannia Neville and Naeirah Neville all of South Hill, VA, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends.

Funeral services for Mr. Mark Anthony Hayes will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Saturday, September 23, 2023 at the chapel of Giles-Harris Funeral Home, Chase City, VA with Elder Kenyatta Evans delivering the eulogy. Burial will follow in Thyne Memorial Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Chase City, VA.  Public viewing for family and friends will be held on Friday from 2:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M.
