Mrs. Marie S. Dailey, 82, of Red Oak, VA entered eternal rest Thursday, January 23, 2014 at her residence. Mrs. Dailey was born in Charlotte County, VA June 18, 1931 to the late Abraham and Gladys Brown Seymore. She attended Charlotte County Public Schools and was a graduate of Central High School. She was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church, Drakes Branch, VA and a former employee of Russell Stover Candies in Clarksville, VA. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Ernest B. Staten and one son, Charles Edward Staten. Cherishing her memories are her husband, Henry Dailey of Chase City, VA; five children, Etta Staten McCargo of Saxe, VA, George Staten of Richmond, VA, Willis Staten (Diane) of Chase City, VA, Donald Staten (Tracey) of Boydton, VA and Ronald Staten of Fredericksburg, VA; special adopted sons , Ronald E. and Devon Nickerson, 26 grandchildren; 60 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; one sister, Virginia Barnes of Delaware and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Mrs. Marie S. Dailey will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at the chapel of Giles-Harris Funeral Home, Chase City, VA with Rev. Earnest Goode, officiating. Burial will follow in Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery, Drakes Branch, VA. Public viewing for family and friends will be held Tuesday from 10:00 A.M. until 7:00 P.M. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Chase City, VA. Services 11:00 A.M.
