Marie Haskins Parrish

Mrs. Marie H. Parrish, 71, of Red Oak, Virginia entered eternal rest Sunday, July 4, 2010 at Berry Hill Health and Rehabilitation Center, South Boston, VA.   Mrs. Parrish was born in Mecklenburg County, Virginia June 17, 1939 to the late Charlie Haskins Sr. and Alnora Smith Haskins.  She was a graduate of West End High School, Skipwith Virginia. She was a member of Bluestone Baptist Church, Chase City, VA.  Cherishing her memories are one son, James A. Parrish (Dionne) of Virginia Beach, VA; one brother, Charlie Haskins, Jr. (Helen) of Red Oak, VA; three sisters, Mary Urquhart of Chesapeake, VA, Alma Nelson (McDonald) of Fredericksburg, VA and Margaret Mosley (Willie) of Red Oak, VA; a special and devoted friend, Mrs. Rosa Barksdale of Berry Hill; and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Mrs. Marie H. Parrish will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Friday, July 9, 2010 at Bluestone Baptist Church, Chase City, VA with Rev. Lawrence Wilkerson, officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.
