Margaret Jean Elam

Miss Margaret Jean Elam, 46, of Chase City, VA entered eternal rest Saturday, July 6, 2019 at VCU/ MCV Hospital, Richmond, VA. Miss Elam was born in Charlotte County, VA May 5, 1973 to Daniel Elam and the late Sarah Rawlings Elam. She attended Randolph Henry High School and was a 12 year employee of Newell Industry, Chase City, VA. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Wylliesburg, VA. She dedicated her life to her two sons, and enjoyed spending lots of time hanging out with family and her only sister. She leaves to cherish her memory two sons, Qua’Darrius Friend and Qua’Maine Friend of Chase City, VA; her father, Daniel Elam of Red Oak, VA; her sister, Shavonda Elam of Keysville, VA; five brothers, Wayne Rawlings (Pamela) of Oxford, NC, Daniel Rawlings (Wendy) of Meherrin, VA, Larry Elam (Lisa) of Charlotte Court House, VA, David Elam (Angie) of Chase City, VA and Michael Elam (Brittany) of Clover, VA; one uncle, five aunts, three great-aunts, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Miss Margaret Jean Elam will be conducted 11:00 AM Saturday, July 13, 2019 at First Baptist Church, Wylliesburg, VA with Rev. Opie Terrell officiating. Burial will follow in the Rawlings Family Cemetery, Chase City, VA. Public viewing for family and friends will be held on Friday from 10:00 AM until 6:00 PM. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.
