Margaret Ann Green

Mrs. Margaret Ann Green, 102, of South Boston, VA entered eternal rest on Sunday, August 20, 2023, at Sentara Halifax Regional Hospital.

Mrs. Green was born in Mecklenburg County, VA on November 3, 1920 to the late Buddy and Mary Taylor. She was educated in Mecklenburg County Schools, and was a dedicated member of both Cherry Hill Church and Dan River View Church. Later in life, she joined Zion Hill Baptist Church, where she served as a respected Church Mother. She continued to be an active and cherished member of the church until her passing.

Mrs. Green was a hardworking and dedicated sharecropper, and she was also employed at Aarons Creek Nursery for many years. She continued working there until the age of 85, demonstrating her strong work ethic and commitment to her community. In her free time, Mrs. Green enjoyed cooking, canning, sewing, and spending time with her family and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Carol Edward Green and William Green.

She leaves to cherish her loving memory three sons, Willie Edward Green of Richmond, VA, Reverend Larry Green (Sarah) of Ringgold, VA, and James Green (Betty) of South Boston, VA; 17 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, 20 great-great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Corine Green, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends.

Funeral services for Mrs. Margaret Ann Green will be conducted 12:00 Noon Saturday, August 26, 2023 at the chapel of C. H. Harris Funeral Home, Buffalo Junction, VA with Rev. Rodney Dillard delivering the eulogy. Burial will follow in St. John Baptist Church Cemetery, Buffalo Junction, VA. Public viewing will begin on Saturday from 10:00 to 11:45 P.M.
