Mr. Mack Arthur Skipper, 64, of Chase City entered eternal rest on Sunday, October 15, 2023 at VCU Health Community Memorial Hospital in South Hill, VA.
Mr. Skipper was born in Charlotte County, VA on July 7, 1959 to the late Willie Mack and Rosa Lee Dailey Skipper. At an early age, he joined Rocky Branch Baptist Church in Red Oak and attended Charlotte County public schools. He later relocated to Washington, DC and gained employment in the construction field. Mack, affectionately known as “Sambo”, was a diehard fan of the Washington Redskins (now Commanders) football team. He loved getting together with his family to play cards, tell jokes, and “give you a piece of his mind”.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a niece, Sade Barnes, and the mother of his daughter, Penny Venable.
He leaves to cherish his memories his daughter, Tabetha Venable (Rufus Neal); two brothers, Albert Skipper of Keysville, VA and Reggie Redd of Red Oak, VA; four sisters, Rosa Taylor of Wilkes Barre, PA, Mattie Currin (Ross) of Saxe, VA, Susan Boyd of Red Oak, VA and Deborah Skipper of Drakes Branch, VA; aunt, Lorraine Brown of Keysville, VA; uncle, Norris Dailey of Red Oak, VA, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends.
Graveside funeral services for Mr. Mack Arthur Skipper will be conducted 2:30 P.M. Saturday, October 21, 2023 at Rocky Branch Baptist Church Cemetery, Red Oak, VA with Rev. Phillip Staten, officiating. Public viewing for family and friends will be held on Friday from 2:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M.
