Mabel S. Boyd

Ms. Mabel S. Boyd, 70, of Chase City, VA entered eternal rest on Tuesday, October 4, 2022 at her residence.

Ms. Boyd was born in Mecklenburg County, VA on March 20, 1952 to the late Charlie and Beatrice Rawlings Boyd. She was a graduate of West End High School in Skipwith, VA, and attended college in Maryland. She was a member of Thyne Memorial Presbyterian Church in Chase City. Ms. Boyd was the operator of Irie Corner in Chase City where she handcrafted soaps, hair products and ointments. She was an avid crocheter, and loved reggae music.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Charlie Edward, Paul, and Henry Louis, and a sister, Lucinda Puryear.

She leaves to cherish her loving memory two sisters-in-law, Dolly Boyd of Chase City, VA and Elite Bouchard-Boyd of Portland, ME; brother-in-law, Edward Puryear of Chase City, VA, her nieces, nephews and cousins, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends.

A memorial service for Ms. Mabel S. Boyd will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Monday, October 17, 2022 at Thyne Memorial Presbyterian Church, Chase City, VA with Pastor Carl Johnson officiating.
