Lucy Mary Bullock Harris

Mrs. Mary Lucy Bullock Harris, 93, of N. Chesterfield, VA entered eternal rest on Saturday, November 23, 2024.

Mrs. Harris was born in Manson, NC on January 17, 1931, to the late Alfred and Iva Lou Bullock in Mason, NC. She accepted Christ at an early age and joined Oak Level United Church of Christ in Manson, NC. Mrs. Bullock worked as a seamstress at Ailene in South Hill and Boydton, VA. She was known for her hot biscuits, fried chicken, cakes, cupcakes and stuffing. In her leisure time she enjoyed word searches, soap operas, flower and vegetable gardening and the Wheel of Fortune.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by, her step-father, William Clark; her husband, John William Harris, Jr.; son, Thomas W. Harris; a granddaughter, Natasha M. Harris; six sisters, Eula Bullock Warren, Claudine Rhone,  Minnie Pearl Bullock Lyon and Grace Quarles; six brothers, John W., James H. Alfred, Jr., Phillip and Harvey Bullock; and a son-in-law, Wayne Williams.

Left to cherish her precious memories are her children, Richard L. Harris (Barbara Ann) of Chase City, VA, John W. Harris (Tina) of Broadnax, Patricia Williams of Chase City, VA, Bobby Jean Jackson (Tyree) of Henrico, VA and Rosa Harris of N. Chesterfield, VA; 17 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren; one brother, Edward Bullock of Skipwith, VA; one sister, Shirley Bullock Gayles of Red Oak, VA and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends.

Funeral services will be conducted 12:00 Noon Monday, December 2, 2024 at Oak Level United Church of Christ, Manson, NC with Rev. Andrew Jackson, officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Public viewing for family and friends will be on Sunday from 2:00 PM until 6:00 PM.
