Lucille Ogburn

Mrs. Lucille Ogburn, 82, of Chase City, VA entered eternal rest Monday, May 30, 2016 at her residence. Mrs. Ogburn was born in Boydton, VA May 25, 1934 to the late Lewis T. and Naomi Oliver. She attended historic Thyne Institute; was a member of Lone Oak Baptist Church, Chase City, VA and retired after 25 years from Hampco Apparel. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Ogburn was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Ogburn; son, James E. Ogburn; sisters, Virginia Liggon and Pheobba Oliver and a brother, James Oliver. Cherishing her memories are six children, Harvey E. Jenkins, Jr. (Marie), Bennie Jenkins, Kendalle Tucker, Elzenic Booker, Luellen Ogburn (Gloria) and Vincent Ogburn; 15 grandchildren; three step-grandchildren, Rodney Greene, Frank Greene and Gloria Grinan; 20 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Hattie Liggon and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Saturday, June 4, 2016 at the chapel of Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA with Rev. Rosa Smith delivering the eulogy. Burial will follow in Lone Oak Baptist Church Cemetery. Public viewing for family and friends, Friday 10:00 A.M. until 7:00 P.M.
