Mrs. Louise Walker Tisdale, 92, of Chase City, VA entered eternal rest Friday, May 31, 2013 at her residence. Mrs. Tisdale was born in South Hill, VA November 29, 1920 to the late Walter and Ida Taylor Walker. She attended the schools of Mecklenburg County, VA and continued her education at St. Paul’s College, Lawrenceville, VA, where she received her Bachelor’s Degree in teaching. She taught in the Mecklenburg County School System for 43 years. She was a member of Silone Baptist Church where she served on the Usher Board, Missionary Circle, Senior Choir, Deaconess Board and as the Church Clerk until her health began to decline. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Tisdale was preceded in death by her husband, Furman Tisdale, Sr. Cherishing her memories are two sons, Furman Tisdale, Jr. (Peggy) of Lexington Park, MD and Charles Tisdale (KaraLynda) of Imperial, PA; stepdaughter Kathryn Nelson (Alvin) of Richmond, VA; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Willie Walker of Philadelphia, PA and Walter Walker (Janet) of Marshfield, MA; one sister, Toney of Chase City, VA; one aunt, Lucille Hudson of South Hill, VA, a special friend, Elven Jackson of Chase City, VA., three caretakers, Vivian Keene, Ronnie and Nannie Allen and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Mrs. Louise Walker Tisdale will be conducted 12:00 Noon Saturday, June 8, 2013 at Silone Baptist Church, Chase City, VA with Rev. Melvin J. Palmer, Officiating. Burial will follow in Thyne Memorial Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Chase City, VA. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 11:00 A.M. until 12:00 Noon at the church. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.
