Mr. Louis Russell Oliver, 69, of Roxboro, NC and formerly of Chase City, VA entered eternal rest Wednesday, March 22, 2017. Mr. Oliver was born in Chase City, VA October 17, 1947 to the late Lewis Waverly and Minnie Smith Oliver. Louis attended Thyne Elementary School and later received home schooling. Louis attended Greater New Life Church of Jesus in White Plains, VA. Cherishing his memories are four brothers, Irvin W. Oliver (Sheena) of Danville, VA, Gordon W. Oliver (Dorothy) of Chesterfield, VA, David L. Oliver of Chase City, VA and Milton D. Oliver (Harriett) of Huntsville, AL; two sisters, Nellie O. James (Roland) of Roxboro, NC and Anne E. Oliver of Charlottesville, VA; devoted niece, Melaine James; his special nurse, Cassidy Hill and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services will be conducted 12:00 Noon Sunday, March 26, 2017 at the chapel of Giles-Harris Funeral Home, Chase City, VA with Apostle Elizabeth Bagley, delivering the eulogy. Burial will follow in the Oliver Family Cemetery, Chase City, VA. Public viewing will begin Sunday from 11:00 A.M until service time. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.
