Lou Alice Harris

Mrs. Lou Alice Harris, 92, of Saxe, VA entered eternal rest on Saturday, March 4, 2017 at Sentara Halifax Regional Hospital, South Boston, VA. Mrs. Harris was born in Saxe, VA on November 9, 1924 to the late Nelson and Annie Marable Jefferson. She attended the schools of Charlotte County, VA and was a member of First Baptist Church, Wylliesburg, VA. Mrs. Harris was formerly employed by Hampco Apparel. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Harris was preceded in death by two sisters, Arlene Jefferson and Pearle Vanderbilt. Cherishing her memories are her husband, Lorenza Harris, Sr. of Saxe, VA; son, Lorenza Harris, Jr. of Saxe, VA; three grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, one sister, Mildred Johnston of Chase City, VA; two sisters-in-law, Ezie Elam and Mary Frances Green; one brother-in-law, Curtis Harris and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Mrs. Lou Alice Harris will be conducted 2:00 P.M., Thursday, March 9, 2017 at First Baptist Church, Wylliesburg, VA with Rev. Opie Terrell, officiating. Burial will follow in Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery, Drakes Branch, VA. Public viewing will be held on Wednesday from 10:00 A.M. until 7:00 P.M at the funeral home. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.
