Mrs. Lottie Marie Thompson Hayes, 58, of Chase City, VA entered eternal rest Saturday, September 20, 2014 at the residence of her parents. Mrs. Hayes was born in Mecklenburg County, VA January 17, 1956 to Harry and Carrie Lee Thompson. She was a 1974 graduate of Bluestone Senior High School and a member of Lone Oak Baptist Church; where she sang with the choir. Mrs. Hayes was a teacher’s aide and a school bus driver for Mecklenburg County School System; she also was a volunteer with the Cub Scouts and the Special Olympics. Mrs. Hayes was preceded in death by a daughter, Cassandra and a brother, Floyd. Cherishing her memories are her husband, Thomas Hayes Sr.; one daughter, Stephanie of Chase City, VA; one son, Thomas (Melissa) of Hamilton, OH; grandson, Micah; her parents, Harry and Carrie L. Thompson of Chase City, VA; three brothers, Harry Jr., (Mary), Clarence (Helen), Emmanuel (Jean) all of Chase City, VA; two adopted sisters, Carolyn Williams (Jerome) and Christine Hayes; an adopted brother, James Jones (Brenda) and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Mrs. Lottie M. Hayes will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Friday, September 26, 2014 at Lone Oak Baptist Church, Chase City, VA with Rev. Freddie Terry, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Public viewing for family and friends will be on Thursday from 10:00 A.M. until 7:00 P.M. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA. Services 11:00 A.M. Friday, September 26, 2014 Lone Oak Baptist Church Chase City, Virginia Interment Church Cemetery Public Viewing Thursday 10:00 A.M. until 7:00 P.M.
