Lottie Frances Newton

Mrs. Lottie Frances Hall Newton, 86, of Clarksville, VA entered eternal rest on Thursday, May 10, 2012 at Meadowview Terrace, Clarksville, VA. Mrs. Newton was born in Halifax County, Virginia June 10, 1925 to the late Otis and Theresa Cousins Hall. She was a graduate of West End High School and later attended Jerry’s School of Beauty Culture in South Hill, VA. Mrs. Newton was a member of Jeter's Chapel Baptist Church, Virgilina, VA and was a former employee of Russell Stover Candies and Harris Beauty Salon. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Newton was preceded in death by her husband, James Andrew Newton; three sisters, Irene Hall, Flora Hall and Otelia Benning; five brothers, Robert Hall, Otis Hall, Jr., Clinton Hall, Leonard Hall, and Peter Hall; and a daughter-in- law, Vera Newton. Cherishing her memories are four children, Melton and Michael Newton of Clarksville, Winnie McQueen (Vester), and Marvis Newton (Sharon) all of Upper Marlboro, MD; 11 grandchildren, four great- grandchildren; four sisters, Evelyn James (Joe)  of Virgilina, VA, Doris Ann Newton (Joe) and Dorothy Bell Terry (Marion), of Newark, NJ, Bernetha Mullins (Robert) of Clarksville, VA; one brother, Curtis Chandler (Dessie) of Roxboro, NC; two sisters-in-law, Denise Hall and Ethel Hall and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Mrs. Lottie Frances Hall Newton will be conducted 12:00 noon Monday, May 14, 2012 at Cherry Hill Baptist Church, Buffalo Junction, VA with Rev. Dr. Raymond E. Dowdy officiating. Burial will follow in Wharton Memorial Gardens, Nelson, VA. Viewing for Mrs. Newton will begin 11:00 A.M. Monday at the church Arrangements are by Harris Funeral Homes and Cremation Service.
