Lorraine Bacon Tucker

Mrs. Lorraine Bacon Tucker, 79, of Chase City, VA entered eternal rest Friday, July 25, 2014 at Halifax Regional Hospital in South Boston, VA. Mrs. Tucker was born in Charlotte County, VA September 18, 1934 to the late Otis and Leanna Gayles Bacon.  She attended the schools of Mecklenburg County, VA and was a member of First Baptist Church, Wylliesburg, VA, where she sang in the choir.  She was a former employee of Hampco Apparel, Inc.  Her favorite pastimes included singing, sewing and cooking. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Tucker; one son, Marvin Lee Tucker, Sr., one sister, Emma Wilson and three brothers, Freddie and Robert Bacon and William Ford. Cherishing her memories are one grandson, Marvin Lee Tucker, Jr. of Chase City, VA; one great-grandson, Marvin Lee Tucker, III of Asheboro, NC; one sister, Leona Johnson (Junis); two brothers, Otis Lee Bacon ( Elnora) of Chase City, VA and James Bacon (Priscilla) of Chester, VA; sister-in-law, Rebecca Bacon; devoted niece, Deberah Williams of Atlanta, GA and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Mrs. Lorraine Bacon Tucker will be conducted 12:00 Noon Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at First Baptist Church, Wylliesburg, VA with Rev. Opie Terrell, officiating.  Burial will follow in  Ivy Hill Cemetery, Chase City, VA.  Public viewing for family and friends will be held Tuesday from 10:00 A.M. until 7:00 P.M.
