Lorenzo Charles Burton

Mr. Lorenzo Charles Burton, 86 of Chase City, VA entered eternal rest Friday, October 7, 2016 at VCU/Community Memorial Health Center, South Hill, VA. Mr. Burton was born in Chase City, VA December 5, 1929 to the late George Irvin and Susie Smith Burton. He was a 1949 graduate of historic Thyne Institute. In 1951 Lorenzo relocated to New Jersey and gained employment with Stonehenge Textile and worked there for 22 years before retiring. In addition to his parents, Mr. Burton was preceded in death by two sisters, Laura Pamplin and Mamie Burton and three brothers, Irvin, Russell and Alvin Burton. Cherishing his memories are two sisters, Thelma Oliver and Teresa B. Coleman both of Chase City, VA; one brother, Hilton Burton of Chase City, VA; two nieces, Marilyn Jones and Hillary Spinks both of Texas and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Mr. Lorenzo Charles Burton will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Monday October 10, 2016 at Bethlehem Baptist Church, Chase City, VA with Rev. Dr. Ricky A. Lee officiating. Burial will follow in the Burton Family Cemetery. Public viewing will begin 10:00 A.M. Monday until service time. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.
