Lizzie Louise Bacon

Mrs. Lizzie Louise Bacon, 94, of Chase City, VA entered eternal rest Wednesday, March 29, 2006 at her residence. Mrs. Bacon was born in Charlotte County, VA October 12, 1911, daughter of the late Henry and Sarah Gayles. She received her education in the Charlotte County School System and was a member of First Baptist Church, Wylliesburg, VA. She had served as President, Treasurer and Secretary of the Missionary Circle, Sunday school teacher, a member of the senior choir and was considered the mother of the church. She was married to Drewrey Bacon who preceded her in death, she also was preceded in death by a daughter, Louise Bacon Harris, a son, Joe Lewis Bacon and 12 sisters and brothers. Cherishing her memories are three daughters, Irene Thompson, Hillside, NJ, Geneva Lea and Maggie Wallicia Crutchfield both of Chase City, VA; five sons, Thomas (Anna) Woodrow, Ellis Isabella) and J.D. (Patty) all of Chase City, VA and Roger (Joyce) of Randallstown, MD; 29 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, eight step-great-grandchildren and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Mrs. Lizzie Louise Bacon will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Sunday, April 2, 2006 at First Baptist Church, Wylliesburg, VA with Rev. Opie Terrell, officiating. Burial will follow in Ivy Hill Cemetery, Chase City, VA.
