Linwood Sr. Hilliard

Mr. Linwood Hilliard, Sr., 75, of Clarksville, VA entered eternal rest Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at Rex Hospital, Raleigh, NC. Mr. Hilliard was born in Mecklenburg County, VA May 30, 1939 to the late Willie and Madeline Burnett Hilliard.  He attended the schools of Mecklenburg County and at an early age joined St. John Baptist Church.  Mr. Hilliard was a member of the Averette Union Masonic Lodge. He was formerly employed by Rankin Williamson Well Drilling for 42 years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Salonia H. Hilliard, three brothers and one sister. Cherishing his memories are  one son, Linwood Hilliard, Jr. (Tonya) of Alton; three daughters, Gayle Mills (Steve) of Buffalo Junction,  Mary H. Gregory and Barbara Hart (Pernell) both of Clarksville;    godson, Anthony Askew; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren;  two brothers, Rudolph Hilliard of Clarksville, VA and Randolph Hilliard (Ella) of Williamsboro, NC; two sisters, Thelma Anderson of Queens, NY and Josephine Short of Arlington, VA; five sisters-in-law; four brothers-in-law and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Mr. Linwood Hilliard, Sr. will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Sunday, February 1, 2015 at Amazing Bibleway Apostolic Church with Bishop Ray T. Stephens, officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Public viewing for family and friends will be held on Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until 6:00 P.M. Arrangements are by C. H.
