Lillie Gayles Goode

Mrs. Lillie Gayles Goode, 98, of Richmond, VA and formerly of Chase City, VA entererd eternal rest Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at her residence. Mrs. Goode was born in Mecklenburg County, Virginia December 14, 1914 to the late Nathan and Lillie Gayles. She was along time resident of Chase City, until her health began to fail.   Lillie was educated in Mecklenburg County Public Schools, and after graduating she worked at Hampco Apparel for 51 years until she retired in 1986.   She was preceded in death by her husband Elmo Goode, five sisters, and four brothers. Cherishing her memories are her daughter/niece, Virginia Bates Richmond, VA; five grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, 10 great-great-grandchildren, one great great great grandchild; one sister-in-law, a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, friends and caregivers. Funeral services for Mrs. Lillie Gayles Goode will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Monday,  July 8, 2013 at Bethlehem Baptist Church, Chase City, VA with Rev. Dr. Pamela C. Lee, officiating.  Burial will follow in Thyne Memorial Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Chase City, VA.  Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.
