Lillie Ann Tisdale

Lillie Ann Tisdale, 96, of Chase City, VA entered eternal rest Sunday, May 28, 2006 at Halifax Regional Hospital, South Boston, Virginia. The third child of four children, Lillie was born in Mecklenburg County, Virginia on November 25, 1909 to the late Elizabeth (Lizzie) and Richard Bridie of Mecklenburg County, Virginia.  She completed the highest grade at Concord public schools and attended Lone Oak Baptist Church in her youth.  Later she became an active member of the Concord Baptist Church family.  On December 29, 1931 she was united in marriage to the late Hubert G. Tisdale, also of Mecklenburg County, Virginia and moved to Yonkers, New York where she became an active member and Deaconess of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church.  Upon the retirement of her husband, Lillie returned to Chase City, Virginia and renewed her membership with Concord Baptist Church where she remained a member until her death.  Lillie was preceded in death by two sisters, Lona J. Watts of Chase City, Virginia and Alma Lucille Land of Yonkers, New York.   Lillie is survived by her daughter, Constance Phillips of Yonkers, New York; four grandchildren, Kerrin Tisdale and Devonia Phillips both of Roanoke, Virginia, Tia Phillips and Shayla Santana both of Yonkers, New York; five great grandchildren Kerron, Lashay, Danae, Mia and Kamren and one sister, Bertha L. Smith of Maywood, Illinois, three special relatives Mary B. Smith, Helen Smith and Emma Davis all of Skipwith, Virginia  and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Mrs. Lillie Ann Tisdale will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Friday, June 2, 2006 at Concord Baptist Church, Chase City, VA with Rev. E. Douglas Reams, officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 7 until 8 P.M. at the funeral home.  Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 1304 North Main Street, Chase City, VA.
