Mr. Lester Jeremaine Pleasant, 43, of Chase City, VA entered eternal rest on Wednesday, October 14, 2020 at his residence. Mr. Pleasant, affectionately known as “Maine”, was born in Halifax County, VA on December 27, 1976 to Leslie and Audrey Brooks Pleasant. He was a 1996 graduate of Randolph Henry High School in Charlotte Court House, and a member of First Baptist Church, Wylliesburg, VA. He enjoyed being around family and friends, fishing, dancing, and was a loyal Pittsburg Steelers fan, win or lose. Mr. Pleasant was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Cindy and Bo Staten, and his paternal grandparents, Algie and Elsie Pleasant, and Sandra Wilson, who he treated as a sister. He leaves to cherish his loving memories two sons, Brian and Damion Pleasant of Drakes Branch, VA; daughter, Keyannah Pleasant (DJ) of Georgia; his parents, Audrey and Leslie Pleasant of Chase City, VA; sister, Hope Brooks; brother, Richard Pleasant (Tiffany) of Broadnax, VA; nephews Jayshon Puryear and Darius Smith who looked to him as a father figure; special friend, Jeannie, seven aunts, six uncles, a host of nieces and nephews, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. A graveside service for Mr. Lester Jeremaine Pleasant will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, October 20, 2020 at First Baptist Church Cemetery, Drakes Branch, VA with Rev. Marvin Harris officiating. Public viewing will be held on Monday from 2:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. Due to Covid-19, a mask will be required for all viewings and services, and we ask that you practice social distancing. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.
