Leon Douglas Townes

Mr. Leon Douglas Townes, 55, of La Crosse, VA entered eternal rest on Monday, October 3, 2022 at his residence.

Mr. Townes was born in Mecklenburg County, VA on November 1, 1966 to Bertha Robinson Townes and the late Vincent H. Townes. He was a graduate of Bluestone Senior High School in Skipwith, VA, and a member of New Liberty Baptist Church in Clarksville, VA. Mr. Townes was formerly employed by Scrappys Transport. In his spare time, he enjoyed the racetrack, and being with family and friends.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by one brother, Vincent Townes, Jr.

He leaves to cherish his loving memory one daughter, Crystal M. Townes of Henderson, NC; his mother, Bertha R. Townes of Clarksville, VA; four brothers, Richard Townes (Jeanine) of South Hill, VA, Larry Townes (Jannie) of Clarksville, VA, Jeffrey Townes (Dorothy) of Buffalo Junction, VA and Alvin Townes (Gail) of Clarksville, VA; sister, Trentace Hutcherson of Charlotte, NC; devoted friend, Yolanda Phillips of La Crosse, VA, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends.

Funerals services for Mr. Leon Douglas Townes will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Saturday, October 8, 2022 at the chapel of C. H. Harris Funeral Home, Buffalo Junction, VA with Rev. Carl Walker officiating. Burial will follow in New Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery, Clarksville, VA. Public viewing for family and friends will be held on Friday from 2:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M.
