Lena F. White

Lena F. White, formerly of Semora NC, fell asleep in death on Tuesday, July 27, 2021 after a brief illness. She was born on May 10, 1930 in Halifax County, VA as the youngest of 4 children to the late Leland D Farabow and Maude Oliver Farabow. On May 19, 1951, Lena married James E. White, Jr. who died December 30, 2012. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Mary Sue McKenna and a brother, James W Farabow. Lena was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on September 10, 1942. She found her greatest joy in the Bible educational work of Jehovah’s Witnesses, conducting scores of free home Bible studies throughout the NC counties of Granville, Vance, Person, and Caswell. Her students became very dear to her as spiritual children and grandchildren. Following the example of her God, Jehovah, her parents, and her older siblings, Lena had a love that reached out and enveloped people into her family. She was a devoted caregiver to each of her parents, her husband, and other close friends. Survivors include her sons, Benjamin L. White (Alma) of Farmville, VA and James O. White (Hope) of Clarksville, VA, and her sister, Lora F. Grinstead of Durham NC. We share her strong faith in the time soon to come when the rule of God’s Kingdom in the hands of His Son Jesus Christ will end all mankind’s troubles and make the earth a paradise.
