Deacon Lee Roosevelt Jackson, 75, of Chase City, VA entered eternal rest Sunday, February 9, 2014 at his residence. Deacon Jackson was born in Halifax County, VA January 4, 1939 to the late Robert and Ella Freeman Jackson.  He attended the schools of Halifax County, VA and was a member of Silone Baptist Church, Chase City, VA.  He was presently chairman of the Deacon Board, sang with the male chorus and was a member of the Missionary Society and Willing Workers.  Mr. Jackson was a retiree of Halifax County. At an early age, Deacon Jackson married Nancy Chappell, this union was blessed with five children.  Years later, he married Mable Ford, who preceded him in death, and this union was blessed with five children.  In 2003, he married Elven Tucker, and this union was blessed with eight children. In addition to his parents and second wife; he was preceded in death by one daughter, Kimberly; four brothers, and three sisters. Cherishing his memories are his wife, Elven S. Tucker Jackson of Chase City, VA; his children, Noris Carrington (Warren), Lee Jr. (Cynthia), Derrick (Veronique), Eric, Donna (Marlande’), James, Linwood, Wanda, William, Fantavia, Robert, Ervin, Ralph, Christina, Mary, Sharon and Milton, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Deacon Lee Roosevelt Jackson will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Saturday, February 15, 2014 at Silone Baptist Church, Chase City, VA with Rev. Melvin J. Palmer, officiating.  Burial will follow in Silone Memorial Garden.  Public viewing for family and friends will be Friday from 10:00 A.M. until 7:00 P.M.  Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.  Service 1:00 P.M. Saturday, February 15, 2014 Silone Baptist Church Chase City, VA Burial Silone Memorial Garden Chase City, VA Public Viewing Friday 10:00 A.M. until 7:00 P.M.
