Larry William Hargrove, Sr.

Mr. Larry William Hargrove, Sr., 66, of Richmond, VA entered into eternal rest on October 23, 2021 at his residence. Mr. Hargrove was born on December 18, 1954 in Mecklenburg County, VA to the late Julia Ann Terry Hargrove and George T. Hargrove, Sr. He dedicated his life to Christ at an early age and was a member of Island Hill Christian Church in Clarksville, VA. He graduated from Bluestone Senior High School and went on to work for Burlington in Clarksville, VA and several county government departments in New York and later in Virginia. Mr. Hargrove retired as an equipment operator from Henrico County. He was well known for his wonderful singing voice as well as for the love that he showed to his family, friends, neighbors, and strangers. In addition to his parents, Mr. Hargrove was preceded in death by two brothers, Lunoah Terry and Nathaniel Terry. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Laura Hargrove of Richmond, VA; two sons, Larry Hargrove, Jr. (Karen) of Roanoke, VA and Dwight Hargrove of Richmond, VA; one daughter, Sharonda Eaddy (Jon) of Florence, SC; a stepson, Charles Matthews of NY; four grandchildren (including a very devoted grandson, Jaylen Hargrove) and one great-grandchild; three sisters, Barbara Terry (Marion) of NC, Juanita Gregory (Steve) of NC, and Glenda Burwell (Chester) of VA; four brothers, Jack Terry (Belle) of NJ, Vernon Hargrove of FL, George Hargrove, Jr. (Joyce) of NY and Shirley Buck Hargrove (Anayansi) of AL; a special daughter in love, Tinkhani White (Donald), and a host of other loving relatives and caring friends. Graveside services for Mr. Larry W. Hargrove will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Sunday, October 31, 2021 at Island Hill Christian Church Cemetery, Clarksville, VA with Rev. John Jefferson officiating. Public viewing will be held on Saturday from 2:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. A mask is required for all viewings and services. Arrangements are by C. H. Harris Funeral Home, Clarksville, VA.
