Mr. Larry Tyrome Carter, 65, of Chase City, VA entered eternal rest Thursday, September 25, 2014 at his residence. Mr. Carter was born in Chase City, VA January 29, 1949 to Robert and the late Beatrice Wood Carter. He attended the schools of Mecklenburg County, VA and was a member of Concord Baptist Church, Chase City, VA. He was first employed by Chesapeake Lumber Company of Keysville, VA and later by Food Lion Distribution Center, Butner, NC. He was first married to Shirley Bacon and to this union one child was born. In addition to his mother, Mr. Carter was preceded in death by one son, Timothy Mc Fail, grandmother, Myrtle Harper, three brothers, Langston “Sleepy” Carter, Martin Carter,  Edwin Alphonso Carter and one sister, Virginia Hicks. He leaves to cherish his memory, two sons, Calvin Tyrome Carter (Tamika) of Chase City, VA and Anthony Taylor of Boydton, VA; 13 grandchildren, one great-grandchild; two sisters, Jerrie Carter of Chesapeake, VA and Beverly Robertson (Harvey), Chase City, VA ; three brothers, Robert M. Carter of Manhatten, NY, Frankie Carter of Atlanta, GA and Robert Watts (Josephine) of Skipwith, VA; two aunts, Alyse Hall of Baltimore, MD and Carrie Carter of Chase City, VA; devoted companion, Irene Carter; devoted friends Robert Spencer and Tyrone Powell and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral Services for Mr. Larry Tyrome Carter will be conducted 12:00 Noon Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at the chapel of Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City with Rev. Willie L. Carter, Sr. officiating. Burial will follow in Silone Memorial Garden, Chase City, VA. Public viewing for family and friends will be Tuesday from 10:00 A.M. until 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.  Service 12:00 Noon Wednesday, October 1, 2014 Giles-Harris Funeral Home Chapel Chase City, Virginia Interment Silone Memorial Garden Public Viewing Tuesday, September 30, 2014 10:00 A.M. - 7:00 P.M.
