Larrie Thomas Beattie

Mr. Larrie Thomas Beattie, 72, of Clarksville, VA entered eternal rest on Saturday, July 15, 2023 at Johnston-Willis Hospital, Richmond, VA.

Mr. Beattie was born in Skipwith, VA on February 15, 1951 to the late Thomas Jefferson and Dessie Mae Atkinson Beattie. He attended the public schools of Mecklenburg County, VA, and was a former truck driver, driving tractor trailers for many years. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, detailing cars, riding motorcycles and collecting guns and knives.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Brinda Jean Jackson; grandson, Sydarious Saunders, and his siblings, Curtis and Freddie Atkinson, and Buddy, Freddie Lee, James Quincey, Leroy, John H., Earline, Mildred and Jonny Beattie, Wilson McCoy, Helen A. Royster, and Mollie B. Stephens.

He leaves to cherish his loving memory three daughters, Tracey Jackson-Beattie of Hagerstown, MD, Angie Beattie of Petersburg, VA and Angela Beattie-Hines of Clarksville, VA; four grandchildren, one great-grandchild; two brothers, Tim Beattie and Clarence Atkinson both of Skipwith, VA; two sisters, Virginia A. Atkinson of Chase City, VA and Shirley Parker of Lynchburg, VA, his devoted friend, Wonder Venable, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends.

A candlelight memorial service for Mr. Larrie Thomas Beattie will be held at the home of Cassandra Atkinson on Friday, August 11, 2023 from 6 pm-9pm.
