Katherine Tarry Venable

Ms. Katherine Tarry Venable, 100, of Clarksville, VA entered eternal rest on Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at Clarksville Health and Rehab Center. Ms. Venable was born the youngest of four siblings June 27, 1920 in Mecklenburg County, VA to the late Harvey S. and Kate Tarry. She received her early education in the Mecklenburg County schools. She briefly relocated to New York for domestic work, but returned home to Clarksville and continued to work and raise her family. Ms. Venable was a dedicated member of Mt. Ararat Baptist Church where she served as a Missionary, Trustee, and was a former Sunday School teacher. She enjoyed nature watching, gardening, and especially fishing. In addition to her parents, Ms. Venable was preceded in death by three sons, Lawrence, Larry and Alvin, and three siblings, Napoleon, Laura and Lillian. She leaves to cherish her memories four children, Ronald, Harold, Jannette and Gloria; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two loving nephews, Freddy and Stevie, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Graveside services for Ms. Katherine T. Venable will be conducted 12:00 Noon Thursday, June 3, 2021 at Crestview Memorial Park, South Hill, VA with Rev. Raymond Roberts, Sr. officiating. Public viewing for family and friends will be held on Wednesday from 2:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. A mask will be required for all viewings and services. Arrangements are by C. H. Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Clarksville, VA.
