June Small

Mr. June Small, 81, of Buffalo, NY formerly of Clarksville, VA entered eternal rest Thursday, July 17, 2008 at Harrisburg Hospital, Harrisburg, PA.  Mr. Small was born in Mecklenburg County, VA December 22, 1926 to the late Thomas Small, Sr. and Vendelhia Venable-Small. He attended the Schools of Mecklenburg County, VA and was a member of Island Hill Church, Clarksville, VA. He retired from the Donna Hanna Coke Steel Industry.   Mr. Small was preceded in death by his wife, Nannie Small, three sons, Nathaniel Small, Alphonso Small and Derrick Small, two sisters, Nannie Small-Bell and Mammie Small-Crutchfield, six brothers, Thomas Small, Jr., Moses Small, Jessie Small, Earl Small, Otis Small and Melvin Small.  Mr. Small is survived by his seven children, Gwendolyn McAllister of Las Vegas, NV, Michael Small, Christina Small, Gregory Small, Falicia Small all of Buffalo, NY, Gary Small of Harrisburg, PA and Tyrone Small of Creedmoor, NC, a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren, one brother, Estee Small of White Plains, NY, one sister, Pearlie Mae Wilkins of  Newark , NJ, three sisters-in-law, Mary Small, Joyce Small and Minnie Small and a vast number of  other loving relatives and caring friends.   Funeral services for Mr. June Small will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Saturday, July 26, 2008 at Mount Ararat Baptist Church, Clarksville, VA with Pastor Esau Harris, officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church, Saturday, from 12 Noon to 1:00 P.M.   Arrangements are by C.H. Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 216 4th St., Clarksville, VA.
