June John (Ducky) Lewis, Jr.

Mr. June John Lewis, Jr., (Ducky) ,92, of Kittrell, NC and formerly of Clarksville, VA, entered eternal rest on Monday, September 5, 2022 at Brantwood Nursing & Rehab Center, Oxford, NC.

Mr. Lewis was born in Mecklenburg County, VA on May 24, 1930 to the late June, Sr. and Irene Lewis. He received his education in the Mecklenburg County Public Schools, and at an early age joined Cedar Grove Baptist Church #2 in Clarksville. Mr. Lewis retired from Bridgestone Bandag in Oxford, NC with over twenty years of dedicated service. He took over the family business, the historic Woburn Winery of Clarksville, which was established in the 1940’s by his late father. He was also the proprietor of Lewis Vault Company in Clarksville, VA.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Lewis was preceded in death by one daughter, Margaret Lewis; two grandchildren, Abria Lewis and Joshua Chase Lewis; one brother, Schwarzkopf Lewis, and two sisters, Blondie Wright and Pequita Cannady.

He leaves to cherish his loving memory three sons, Marion Lewis (Trymiko) of Clarksville, VA, Christopher Lewis of Raleigh, NC, and June Lewis, III (Ayana) of Kittrell, NC; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one brother, Lunceford Lewis (Jennie) of Burlington, NC, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends.

Funeral services for Mr. June Lewis, Jr. will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Saturday, September 10, 2022 at  Mount Zion United Holy Church, 209 Orange St, Oxford, NC with Elder Patrick K. Jackson delivering the eulogy. Burial will follow in Cedar Grove Baptist Church #2 Cemetery, Clarksville, VA. Public viewing will be held on Friday from 2:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. A mask is required for all viewings and services.
