Joyce Lorraine Newton Gooch

Mrs. Joyce Lorraine Newton Gooch, 67, of Skipwith, VA entered eternal rest on Friday, September 16, 2016 at Hock Family Pavilion, Durham, NC. Mrs. Gooch was born in Clarksville, VA on December 15, 1948 to the late Jimmie and Nannie Hutcherson Newton. She was a 1968 graduate of West End High School, Skipwith, VA and a member of Cherry Hill Baptist Church, Buffalo Junction, VA. Mrs. Gooch was formerly employed by Nipro PharmaPackaging Americas, Chase City, VA, having worked for 23 years as a packer. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Gooch was preceded in death by her husband, Larvester Gooch. Cherishing her memories are one son, Rodney O’Neal Gooch of Nelson, VA; three grandchildren, Raquan, Zacchaeus and Divinity Gooch; one sister, Eura N. Hayes (Larry) of Clarksville, VA; one aunt, Mable Hutcherson Tillerson; two devoted cousins, Henry Hutcherson and Tryna Jean Newton-Terry, whom she treated as a sister and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. A memorial service will be held on October 15, 2016 from 2:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M. at Cherry Hill Baptist Church, Buffalo Junction, VA. Arrangements are by C. H. Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Clarksville, VA.
