Joyce Lee Maddox Pulliam

Mrs. Joyce Lee Maddox Pulliam 47, of Skipwith, VA was called home from labor to reward on Tuesday, March 27, 2018. Mrs. Pulliam was born in Yonkers, NY October 23, 1970 to the late Irene and Leonard "Lee" Maddox. She was a 1988 graduate of Lincoln High School, Yonkers, NY and at an early age joined Mt. Carmel Baptist Church. She attended Kee Business College, obtaining a certification in Business, and later Interboro Institute where she earned an Associate’s Degree in Business, graduating Magna Cum Laude. Mrs. Pulliam relocated to Virginia in 1997, and joined Calvary Baptist Church where she served as Youth Director, Sunday School Teacher, Assistant Church Clerk and Vice President of the Senior Choir. While in Virginia, she furthered her education, earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Business from St. Paul’s College and pursued her Master’s Degree in Human Services from Liberty University. Mrs. Pulliam was employed with Behavior Health and Wellness as a Qualified Mental Health Professional. Treasuring her love, kindness, gentleness, and giving spirit are her husband Brian G. Pulliam of Skipwith, VA; seven children, Justin, Jamia, Jaleah, Brittney, Bryant, Brandlyn and Brandon; four grandchildren; three sisters, Janice Salley (Chris) of Chase City, VA, Wanda Liningham (Yusuf) of Baltimore, MD and Wendy "Shriggy" Jordan (Randy)of Raleigh, NC; one brother, Rev. Robin Wilson (Gwen) of Chesapeake, VA, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Mrs. Joyce Lee Maddox Pulliam will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Sunday, April 1, 2018 at Calvary Baptist Church, Victoria, VA with Rev. William Moore III officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Public viewing for family and friends will be held on Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until 6:00 P.M. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.
