Joyce Ann Wood

Ms. Joyce Ann Wood, 64, of Chase City, VA entered eternal rest Saturday, January 6, 2024 at VCU Community Memorial Hospital, South Hill, VA.

Ms. Wood was born in Halifax County, VA April 28, 1959 to the late James and Blanche Wood. She attended Central High School in Charlotte County and was a member of Rocky Branch Baptist Church, Red Oak, VA. In her spare time she enjoyed cooking, watching TV and spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Anthony Wood who passed away on December 29, 2023.

Cherishing her memories are six sisters, Mahalia W. Smith of Chase City, VA, Gracie W. Pulliam of Keysville, VA, Sandra Wood and Hazel Harris (Lorenzo) of Saxe, VA, Beulah Wood of Wylliesburg, VA, and Arlean Wood of Clarksville, VA; two brothers, Irving Wood of Brooklyn, NY and James E. Wood (Bernice) of Newark, NJ; five grandchildren and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends.

Funeral services will be conducted 4:30 PM Sunday, January 14, 2024 at the chapel of Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA with Rev. Phillip Staten, officiating. Interment will be private. Public viewing will begin Sunday at 3:30 PM until service time.
