Josephine R. Johnson

Mrs. Josephine R. Johnson, 83, of Red Hill, PA and formerly of Chase City, VA entered eternal rest Saturday, May 28, 2011 in Red Hill, PA. Mrs. Johnson was born in Chase City, VA August 18, 1927 to the late Filbert and Maggie Thomason Rawlings. She attended Thyne Institute, Chase City, VA and was a member of First Baptist Church, Wylliesburg, VA. She also was a watch care member of Silone Baptist Church, Chase City, VA. Josephines' pass time was crafting. In addition to her parents, Josephine was preceded in death by her husband, William Johnson, a son, William Grant Johnson, a granddaughter and a brother, William Rawlings. Cherishing her memories are a devoted companion, Jack L. Spinner of Red Hill, PA; two children, Virginia L Crawley (John) of Red Hill, PA and Winston L. Johnson (Pearl) of Chase City, VA; four grandchildren, Kenneth, Aretha, Ophila and Elroy, nine great-grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Mrs. Josephine R. Johnson will be conducted 3:00 P.M. Saturday, June 4, 2011 at First Baptist Church, Wylliesburg, VA with Rev. Opie Terrell, officiating. Burial will follow in the Rawlings family Cemetery, Chase City, VA. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6 until 7 P.M. at the funeral home. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.
