Josephine Boulden Robertson

Mrs. Josephine Boulden Robertson, 79, of Chase City, entered eternal rest on Sunday, January 16, 2011 at her residence. Mrs. Robertson was born to the late Charlie Andrew and Earley Clay Boulden on August 7, 1931 in Nelson, VA, and was educated in the Virginia and New Jersey school systems.    While living in New Jersey she attended Mt. Calvary AME Church in Jersey City, NJ; upon returning to Virginia she joined Silone Baptist Church in Chase City, VA.  She was a buyer and salesperson for the Singer Company for several years, as well the banking industry, retiring from Plaza Apartments in 1998 where she was manager. Mrs. Robertson was preceded in death by a son, Frank T. Robertson and son-in- law, Linell Richardson as well as four sisters and two brothers.  Mrs. Josephine Robertson is survived by her husband, William T. Robertson; six children,  Wayne (Dorothy) of Jersey City, NJ, Warren (Barbara) of Hillsdale, NJ, Leonard of Jersey City, NJ, JoAnne Richardson of Alexandria, VA,  Mary  Epps (Beaufort) of Chesapeake, VA, Cassandra  Edwards (Johnnie) Chesapeake, VA; three sisters, Janie Hall, Katherine Thomas and Ella Cook; two brothers, Eltee Boulden and James Thomas;  twenty grandchildren, a host of great-grandchildren, several great-great grandchildren;  a daughter-in-law, Patricia Robertson, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Mrs. Josephine Boulden Robertson will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Saturday, January 22, 2011 at Silone Baptist Church, Chase City, with Rev. Melvin J. Palmer, officiating.  Burial will follow in Silone Memorial Gardens, Chase City, VA.  The family will receive friends Friday evening from 5 until 7 P.M. at the funeral home. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.
