Joseph White

Mr. Joseph White, 91 of Skipwith, VA entered eternal rest Friday, July 18, 2014 at VCU/Community Memorial Healthcenter, South Hill, VA. Mr. White was born in Mecklenburg County VA July 24, 1922 to the late Archer and Mary Virgie Pulliam White. He attended the schools of Mecklenburg County, VA and was a member of Saint Luke Baptist Church. He was a retired farmer and was last employed by the Mecklenburg County Schools System. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. In addition to his parents Mr. White was preceded in death by his wife,  Mrs. Geneva Gregory White; one grandson, Russell E. White Jr., 16 siblings and two adopted children. Cherishing his memories are one son, Russell E. White of Skipwith, VA; adopted children, Roy White Jr. of South Carolina, George White of Florida, Linda White of Arlington, VA and Brenda Stroble of Alexandria; one grandson, Mark A. White of Richmond, VA, one great-granddaughter, Lauren G. White; one sister, Mary Virginia Puryear (Alfred) of Springfield, VA; one brother, Ricky White of Clarksville, VA and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Mr. Joseph White will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, July 22, 2014 at Saint Luke Baptist Church, Skipwith, VA. Burial will follow in the White Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 10:00 A.M.  until service time. Public viewing for family and friends will be Monday from 10:00 A.M. until 7:00 P.M. Arrangements are by C.H.
