John William Bullock, Sr.

Mr. John William Bullock, Sr., 95, of Chase City, VA entered eternal rest on Wednesday, March 9, 2022 at his residence. Mr. Bullock was born in Mason, NC on October 29, 1926 to the late Alfred, Sr. and Iva Lou Bullock. Mr. Bullock was a member of Oak Grove United Church of Christ in North Carolina, and was a retired carpenter. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, taking care of animals, and cutting wood. In addition to his parents, Mr. Bullock was preceded in death by his wife, Roseanna Sturdivant Bullock; daughter, Nancy Reed; sons, John Bullock, Jr. and James Bullock; brothers, James H., Alfred, Jr., Phillip and Harvey; sisters, Eula Warren and Minni Lyons, and son-in-law, Willie Reed, Sr. He leaves to cherish his loving memory five daughters, Edna Mae Burton, Mary Bullock and Barbara J. Bullock (Bubba) all of Chase City, VA, Martha B. Goode (Earnest, Sr.) of Newport News, VA and Bessie Watson of Scottsburg, VA; nineteen grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren; one brother, Edward Bullock of Chase City, VA; four sisters, Claudine Rhone and Shirley Gayles both of Chase City, VA, Grace Quarles of Washington, DC and Lucy Harris of Richmond, VA, one sister-in-law, one brother-in-law, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. A memorial service for Mr. John William Bullock, Sr. will be held at a later date. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.
