John Wesley Evans
August 9, 1956 — August 30, 2024
Mr. John Wesley Evans, 68, of Chase City, VA entered eternal rest on Friday, August 30, 2024 at Chase City Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Mr. Evans, affectionately known as J. W., was born in Person County, NC on August 9, 1956 to the late Perry B. Evans and Callie I. Saunders. He attended Person County High School and worked various jobs through the years. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing card games, bingo, and watching TV, especially wrestling.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Evans was preceded in death by a sister, Jeanette Horner, and two brothers, Bernie and Richard Evans.
He leaves to cherish his loving memory four sisters, Shirley Hutchins of Chase City, VA, Phyllis Windham of Efland, NC, Barbara Chewning of Newport, NC and Boris Hutchins of Blackstone, VA; two sisters-in-law, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends.
A memorial service will be announced for a future date.
