John Smith

Mr. John Smith, 58 of South Boston, VA entered eternal rest Monday, May 29, 2006 in South Boston, VA. Mr. Smith was born in Halifax County, VA August 20, 1947 to the late William and Louise Major Smith. He was an employee of the Town of Clarksville. He was preceded in death by one daughter Charlene Venable.   Cherishing his memories is his wife Mrs. Nannie R. Smith of Clarksville, VA; four children, Bettie Terry and Diane Smith both of Buffalo Junction, VA, Eric Smith of Clarksville, VA, and Jeanette Smith of Connecticut; ten grandchildren, one sister, Shirley Smith of Alton, VA; two brothers, Thomas Smith of Roxboro, NC and Lloyd Smith of Baltimore, MD, two aunts, one uncle, six sisters-in-law, two brothers-in-law and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends.  Funeral services for Mr. John Smith will be conducted 2:30 P.M. Friday, June 2, 2006 at Saint John Baptist Church, Buffalo Junction, VA with Rev. Charles Sands, officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at C.H. Harris Funeral Home on Thursday evening from 7 until 8 P.M. Arrangements are by C.H. Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 216 fourth Street, Clarksville, VA.
