John Richard Freeman

Mr. John Richard Freeman, 87, of Chase City, VA entered eternal rest Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at Chase City Health and Rehabilitation Center. Mr. Freeman was born in Chase City, VA November 19, 1929 to the late John Henry and Lucy Williams Freeman. He attended the schools of Mecklenburg County, VA and attended the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, South Hill, VA congregation. He was a former employee of Burlington Industries. In addition to his parents, Mr. Freeman was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Boyd Freeman and a step-son, Wilbur Boyd. Cherishing his memories are one sister, Lucy A. Burton of Chase City, VA; one brother, Henry O. Freeman (Judith) of Chase City, VA; a host of nieces, nephews and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Graveside services for Mr. John Richard Freeman will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Monday, March 27, 2017 at Concord Baptist Church Cemetery, Chase City, VA with his niece, Gloria Pemberton conducting the service. Public viewing will be on Monday from 10:00 A.M. until 12:00 Noon. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.
