John L. Morton, Sr.

Mr. John L. Morton, Sr., 65, departed this life on Friday, February 16, 2024 at Chase City Health and Rehab Center.

Mr. Morton was born March 19, 1958 in Yonkers, NY to the late Charles H., Sr. and Mary Pamplin Morton. He attended high school in Yonkers, NY and later joined the army. After discharge he held many jobs in different fields. His last job before relocating to Victoria, VA was a flagger.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Morton was preceded in death by his wife, Tonya Patricia Brooks Morton; two brothers, his twin, James Morton and Charles (Ronnie) Morton, Jr.; and two sisters, Carolyn Rose Jackson and Janet Morton.

Those left to cherish his memories are his children, John Morton, Jr. of El Paso, TX, Stacy Morton of Dallas, TX, Monique Yates of Laveen, AZ, Samantha Morton of Yonkers, NY and Jontel Morton of Virginia; two step-daughters, Natasha and Kelly Nelson both of Richmond, VA; eighteen grandchildren, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends.

A memorial service for Mr. John L. Morton will be held at a later date.
