John Junior Watson

Mr. John Junior Watson, 76, of Red Oak, VA entered eternal rest on Friday, May 8, 2020 at Berry Hill Health and Rehab Center, South Boston, VA. Mr. Watson was born in Charlotte County, VA October 15, 1943 to the late John Henry, Sr. and Parthenia Toombs Watson. He attended the schools of Charlotte County, VA, and worked in construction. Mr. Watson enjoyed walking and listening to music. In addition to his parents, Mr. Watson was preceded in death by a son, Willie Andrew Watson and five brothers, Willie, Horace, Alex, Clem and Dan Watson. Cherishing his memories are his children, Joann Bronston (Jerry) of Clarksville, VA, Carolyn Watson of Richmond, VA, John Watson (Delores) and Joe Watson all of Chase City, VA; fourteen grandchildren; his siblings, Laura Watson (Jerry Marable) of Red Oak, VA, Millie McRae (Rev. Curtis) of Bullock, NC and Mattie Walton (Wayne) of Roxboro, NC; two aunts, Elvira Boyd of Wylliesburg, VA and Hattie McCargo of Red Oak, VA, a host of nieces and nephews, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Due to the mandates from Governor Ralph Northam, a private graveside service was conducted Friday, May 15,2020 at Salem Baptist Church Cemetery, Red Oak, VA with Rev. Curtis McCrae, delivering the eulogy . Public viewing was held on Thursday from 2:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.
