John Charles Crawley

Mr. John Charles Crawley, 72, of Chase City, VA entered eternal rest on Wednesday, September 28, 2022 at VCU Medical Center in Richmond, VA.

Mr. Crawley was born in Charlotte County, VA on June 14, 1950 to the late Andrew and Ophelia Crawley. He was a graduate of Central High School in Charlotte Court House, and a member of Rocky Branch Baptist Church in Red Oak. He was a US Marine Corps veteran. Mr. Crawley was formerly employed as a medical transit driver and a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). In his spare time, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, and watching football.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Johnson; granddaughter, Quadara Ringgold; grandson, Isaiah Johnson, and a brother, Andrew Crawley.

He leaves to cherish his loving memory his wife, Virginia Johnson Crawley of Chase City, VA; four daughters Ophelia Crawley of Philadelphia, PA, Pam Crawley of Suffolk, VA, Aretha Benson of Las Vegas, NV and Rebecca Copes of Maryland; eleven grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren; one sister, Elizabet Middough (Isaiah) of Alexandria, VA; brother-in-law, Winston Johnson, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends.

A memorial service for Mr. John Charles Crawley will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Saturday, October 15, 2022 at the chapel of Giles-Harris Funeral Home, Chase City, VA with Rev. Phillip Staten officiating.
