Joe Louis Mcbee, Sr.

Mr. Joe Louis McBee, Sr., 82, of Clarksville, VA entered eternal rest on Friday, June 23, 2023 at his residence.

Mr. McBee was born in Mecklenburg County, VA on February 23, 1941 to the late James Edward and Rosa Greene McBee. He received his education in the public schools of Mecklenburg County, and was a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Boydton where he served as president of the Usher Board, and sang with the Male and Senior Chorus. Mr. McBee was formerly employed by several companies to include C. H. Harris Funeral Home, Burlington Industries and Mecklenburg County Public Schools. In his spare time, you could find him buffing floors with his son, Joe, Jr., fishing, cutting grass and telling jokes.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, James Edward McBee, Jr., Howard L. McBee, John Arthur McBee, Emma Mae Puryear, Bertha Greene and Obie Sue Watson.

He leaves to cherish is loving memory his wife, Ardell McBee of Clarksville, VA; two sons, George A. Lee, Sr. (Frances) of Graham, NC and Joe L. McBee, Jr. (Lisa) of Clarksville, VA; two daughters, Angela Terry (Herbert) and Pattie Morris both of Clarksville, VA; sixteen grandchildren and thirty-five great-grandchildren; one sister, Barbara Small of Nelson, VA, three brothers-in-law, three sisters-in-law, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends.

Funeral services for Mr. Joe Louis McBee, Sr. will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Saturday, July 1, 2023 at the chapel of C. H. Harris Funeral Home, Buffalo Junction, VA with Rev. Earl Terry officiating. Burial will follow in New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery, Boydton, VA. Public viewing for family and friends will be held on Friday from 2:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M.
