Joe Louis Gregory

Mr. Joe Louis Gregory, 84, of Mebane, NC and formerly of Boydton, VA entered eternal rest on Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at his residence. Mr. Gregory was born in Boydton, VA July 20, 1938 to the late Milton Floyd and Mary Duncan Gregory. He was a graduate of East End High School, South Hill, VA and was a member of Saint Mark United Holy Church, Boydton, VA. At an early age Joe moved to East Orange, NJ where he married Omelia Gayles, this union was blessed with three children, Loretta, Milton and Joe Jr. Mr. Gregory was employed at the Overlook Hospital in Verona, NJ until he retired. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Milton Edward Gregory, sisters, Margret Binford, Elizabeth Jones, Hazel Barnes, Mary Crute, Florence Smith (Thomas Smith) Helen Morse (Earl Morse) and Virginia Blalock; two brothers, Dalton Gregory and Nelson Lee Gregory; a son-in-law, Willie C. Bowe and a grandson, Milton Tyler Gregory. He leaves to cherish his loving memories a daughter, Loretta Gregory Bowe, six grandchildren, Brittney Marie Bowe, Justin La rise Bowe, Joe Louis Gregory Jr., Isaiah Gregory, Myles D. Gregory, Latoya Michelle Lisath Binford; six great- grandchildren, Azariah M. Binford, Alijah J. Binford, Jayden Binford, Rayhan Gregory, Ruqayyah Gregory and Maleah Gregory; sister, Shirley Goodman of Charlotte, NC; daughter-in-law, Leah Lisath Gregory Griggs and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Saturday, February 12, 2022 at the chapel of C.H. Harris Funeral Home, Clarksville, VA with Pastor Curtis Flora delivering the eulogy. Burial will follow in the Gregory Family Cemetery, Boydton, VA. Public viewing will be on Saturday from 10:00 AM until 10:45 AM. A rrangements are by C.H. Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
