Jocile Cheatham Bailey

Ms. Jocile Cheatham Bailey, 78, of Chase City, VA entered eternal rest on Friday, January 26, 2024 at VCU Health Community Memorial Hospital, South Hill, VA.

Ms. Bailey was born in Mecklenburg County, VA on April 23, 1945 to the late James and Hessie M. Cheatham. She was a graduate of West End High School in Skipwith, VA, and attended Concord Baptist Church in Chase City. Ms. Bailey was a retiree of Nipro Glass Americas (formerly Wheaton Tubing).

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Eddie, Robert and Jimmy Lee Cheatham; and three sisters, Ruth Johnson, Frieda Washington and Rita Cheatham.

She leaves to cherish her loving memory her son, Garrett K. Cheatham of Chase City, VA; two daughters, Lisa Cheatham and Lisa Hayes both of Chase City, VA; five grandchildren; brother, Felix Cheatham of South Hill, VA; sister, Clara Jones of South Hill, VA, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends.

A memorial service for Ms. Jocile Cheatham Bailey will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Friday, February 2, 2024 at the chapel of Giles-Harris Funeral Home, Chase City, VA with Rev. Raleigh M. Bagley, III officiating.
